The project is coming along nicely at Disneyland Paris... Walt Disney Company Parks, Experiences & Products head of section Josh D'Amaro gave news about the progress of the upcoming Marvel land in the French theme park, Avengers Campus, on the occasion of the D23 held in Florida. And the news is good... And for good reason: he revealed the opening date of the upcoming land, this summer 2022 (without adding further details). This Tuesday Januayr 25, during a press brief, a concept art has been unveiled on the resort's press website.
As for the worksite, only one picture of the progress of the construction of the Iron Man and Spider-Man rides have been released. This past April already, Walt Disney Imagineering art director Beth Clapperton explained during the resort's 29th anniversary this Monday April 12, 2021.
The location is said to house two rides - among others: "It’s a 360-degree experience where you’re going to find a new attraction dedicated to Spider-Man, a relooking of the attraction it’s had at the bottom of the area, Rock’n’Roller Coaster with Aerosmith which will become a hyper-frenetic attraction with Iron Man, and then of course there are restaurants, boutiques, so a really small town, a real campus", she indicated. She continued:"we'll brought a lot of greenery. It was much more mineral, and now we'd like to get more greenery". She adds the sound atmosphere will be especially meaningful for a total immersion.
Back in November 2020, we were given already some news about the new land with a picture showing some of the construction site of the late Rock'n'Roller Coaster, as well as the Mission Control building said to house a "Meet & Greet" where families can have their pictures taken with many Marvel superheros.
What do these pictures show? That the façade of the upcoming Iron Man ride is taking shape, including the laying of the concrete bases of the upcoming circular front of the ride. As for the Meet & Greet, the building seems done on the outsie, excluding the front, but still waiting for the platform where will be standing the Avengers' Quinjet. Works suggest the ride could still open for the summer 2021.
In the summer 2019, Disneyland Paris shared a first look of the upcoming land dedicated to the Marvel superheroes giving a few details about the future attractions and shows the area will offer in the Walt Disney Studios. An announcement made by Marvel portfolio executive producer Scot Drake before it was passed on Twitter by the Parisian resort. And for D23 Expo happening in Anaheim, California, from August 23 to 25, 2019, this new zone now has a name: Avengers Campus!
According to Disneyland Paris, this new area will put guests to the “heart of the action and their favorite superheroes’ epic adventures, from Doctor Strange’s mystical arts to Spiderman vertiginous exploits.” Children and parents can also “discover the latest experiences created by Pym Technology with Ant-Man and the Wasp” before “teaming up with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and many others”.
Four superheroes seem to be given pride of place in this new land: Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Yet, we don’t know which shape will depict these four characters, if there’s a special ride or if they’ll have their solo show. Anyway, Iron Man is sure to take up residence in lieu of Rock’n’Roller Coaster that will undergo a complete renovation around the armored billionaire, and Spider-Man will get a brand-new and innovative attraction in lieu of Armaggedon and Ant-Man will get a restaurant where Blockbuster Café used to be.

Last but not least, all Marvel superheroes will be ensured of their presence in the land for spectacular shows or simply meetings with kids and their parents at the "Missoin Control", the future Meet & Greet area in a brand-new building near Rock'n'Roller Coaster and in lieu of Moteur, Action! Beyond the "Meet&Greet", fans can also meet with some of the superheros in the main aisle of this new land for potential street shows: have been announced during the 2019 D23 Expo Star Lord, Gamora, Groot, Black Widow, Black Panther and even Thor.
