Like every year, the Château de Fontainebleau organizes its traditional carnival during the month of February. This year, two dates have been set: Sundays, February 9 and 16, 2020.
What better way to discover the history of this magnificent Renaissance château than to "go back in time" and live, for a day, as our ancestors did? That's what the Château de Fontainebleau is offering this first weekend of the Paris school vacations.
Children are invited to dress up as 17th-century princes and princesses for a festive afternoon of fencing, dancing and a Renaissance costume ball.
Throughout the afternoon, they'll also be invited to take part in creative workshops or make-up sessions to perfect their outfits.
Program :
Dance initiation and Renaissance ball: 2, 3 and 4 p.m.
Between branle, pavane and volte, you'll share the pleasure of dancing together.
By the Outre-Mesure company
Fencing demonstrations and workshops: 2pm to 5pm
Introduction to course and military salutes, introduction to combat techniques (in cooperation with a fencing partner, techniques supervised by a fencing master), demonstration of duels with one and two weapons.
Wreath-making workshop: from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. free access, subject to availability.
Make-up: from 2pm to 5pm, subject to availability.
In short, a great program for a family outing combining culture, history and fun.
