Great news for creative families and budding artists: the Rodin Workshop is back at the iconic museum named after the legendary sculptor, located just next to the Invalides. What's on offer? Plenty of kid-friendly activities designed to make sure children — even the youngest — have a fantastic time at the museum! For the fifth edition of the Rodin Workshop, the event promises memorable family moments, with activities suitable for children as young as six months!
From April 11 to September 6, 2026, the Atelier Rodin offers two dedicated discovery areas: one tailored for babies aged 6 to 24 months, and another designed for children between 3 and 12 years old. At each stage, young explorers can engage with the world of sculpture alongside engaging guide-lecturers, making art accessible and fun for all ages.
For a family outing, we recommend exploring the Rodin Museum collection, especially with the kids' audio guide. Take a walk through the lush three-hectare French-style garden and hunt for hidden statues along the paths... This is where you can encounter some of the artist's most iconic works, such as The Thinker and The Kiss.
Next up, it's time to get hands-on! The "touch-and-try" zone encourages children to explore Rodin’s favorite materials: marble, wood, and bronze, while discovering the different sculpture techniques. It's their turn to become artists with a variety of creative workshops offered. And for an extra dose of fun, don’t miss the podiums set up in front of some statues for kids to strike the same pose, or the slide connecting two rooms for a playful passage from one space to another!
The Rodin Workshop also features a relaxation area stocked with a wide collection of books, allowing kids to enjoy some quiet time and expand their knowledge while comfortably settled. With games, sculpting workshops, reading, drawing, and artistic activities, everything is tailored for children—encouraging their artistic development in a fun, engaging way that also respects their need to play and move around!
Activities are led by professionals; however, parent supervision remains mandatory: a child must be accompanied throughout the entire visit.
The Various Spaces of the Rodin Workshop 2026:
Our opinion:
If you're searching for a kid-friendly museum to visit with children between April and September, look no further! Put on your apprentice sculptor's apron and head into the Workshop: here, you'll find everything needed to keep kids of all ages entertained, but more importantly, you'll also gain insights through thoughtful, playful, and genuinely engaging exhibits that introduce young visitors to the world of sculpture.
The Rodin Workshop is designed as a sensory experience that stimulates all the senses: touch, with mystery boxes that allow kids to identify statues just by feeling; sight, with coloring activities, drawing workshops, an enormous blackboard for sketches, and a wall featuring broken statues to be reassembled with magnetic devices... Hearing, with the museum's podcasts that simplify the sculptor's work (accessible in "sound bubbles"); smell, with the scent of modeling clay to knead endlessly during modeling workshops...
We love the playful atmosphere of the exhibition, featuring the rare unusual slide—a fun feature rarely found in museums—the children's masterpiece display showcasing young visitors’ drawings, and the quiet corner with a library offering books for both parents and children, along with large cushions perfect for hours of reading. The Rodin Museum has thought of everything, down to the smallest detail: pose like the statues by mimicking their attitudes, imitate the famous Thinker, or touch the marble, bronze, or plaster to recognize the materials later on the finished statues. The core of the Workshop Rodin experience revolves around hands-on touchable exhibits, where playing, running around, and sculpting create a totally different museum experience from the usual.
