Free weekends at the museum with the family are a great way to enjoy an outing with the kids and spend some quality time together on a cultural outing without blowing your monthly budget on workshops and admission tickets. Following the Palais Galliera, the Musée Bourdelle, the Petit Palais and the Musée Cernuschi, it’s now the turn of the Musée Cognacq-Jay, in the 3rd arrondissement, to host its free weekend for families on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2026.
What’s on the program? Fun tours and workshops for a weekend specially designed for children and their parents (or uncles, aunts and grandparents). The best part is that the event is open to everyone, with no booking required—and admission and activities are completely free for the whole family!
The Musée Cognacq-Jay houses a collection of 18th-century works and objets d’art in its permanent galleries, bequeathed by Ernest Cognacq, a Parisian merchant who, among other things, founded the La Samaritaine department stores in Paris. Why not discover this cultural venue over the weekend of December 5 and 6, 2026?
