In Montreuil, MARMOE, the Month of the Arts for Children in Montreuil, brings artistic disciplines together for young audiences. This year, the festival features around 40 events at 23 venues, including performances, screenings, visual arts and workshops. It’s an invitation to explore different worlds as a family and make room for children’s curiosity.
Among the new offerings announced, the Cirque de la Guirlande raises its big top for Arcanae, an evening of storytelling and circus arts. Olalaland, by Lionel Dray and Clémence Jeanguillaume, draws audiences into a visual and musical world shaped by projected drawings and silent cinema.
Music also has a place in this edition: Corinne Masiero narrates Peter and the Wolf, Revisited but Not Corrected!, accompanied by Ensemble Dénote. La Cité des Marmots shares the stage with the Rassegna company for a program of traditional Mediterranean songs, while La Marbrerie hosts a family dance party.
At the Le Méliès cinema, the program includes a carte blanche curated by Ugo Bienvenu featuring The Mask, a preview screening of Muyi, the Legend of the Village of Women followed by a discussion with Julien Chheng, and Draw Your Toons!, which combines short films and drawing.
Visual arts and artistic practice round out the program, with an exhibition and workshops around Momomomo, cyanotype, studio photography and read-aloud sessions. The Tout pour les MARMOE(s) weekend at the Montreuil public theater, and Family Saturdays at the Maison Populaire, offer further opportunities to discover and create together.
