The driving force behind the project is Claire Wyniecki. A violinist and music journalist by profession, she opened her music school eight years ago, before moving into the current premises in 2023. A music and dance school for children, but not only: Chœur cœur is also a beautiful children's bookshop, with a large section dedicated to toddlers. " We work with books in line with children's development," explains the founder, herself the mother of three toddlers.
So, here, we work by theme, and each one changes every 6 to 8 weeks, mixing both new children's literature and older works. " Sometimes, parents or even grandparents recognize books from their childhood in the current selection," says Claire.
Adjoining the bookshop, the dance and music room welcomes future prodigies all week long, as well as at weekends. Breakdance, musical awakening, musical comedy and tap dance, introduction to ballet, children's yoga... are taught every week by professionals who also perform on stage. " Everything is a bit staged here," explains Claire, who has designed Chœur Cœur 's courses to give children a certain ease on stage, and encourage them to perform, with productions or a show at the end of the year for each course. On weekends, we meet up for a baby boom or an afternoon of storytelling.
Claire has created her own children's clothing brand, PROUT PROUT, which includes hand-knitted sweaters from Northern France, hats, bandanas and other accessories.
