At 19M, in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, children aged 8 to 12 can make a ribbon accessory with artist Sofía Bonilla Otoya. Two sessions are still scheduled for Saturday, October 31, and Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Galerie du 19M.
The starting material is grosgrain ribbon, which participants learn to transform into three-dimensional shapes. Over the course of an hour and 15 minutes, they fold, twist, knot and weave it to create a sculpture they can wear. Combining colors and using different techniques, they can make knots, flowers or woven shapes. Each child takes home their creation.
The workshop is led by a Colombian artist whose work includes sculpture, installation and textiles. It accompanies the exhibition Metamorphoses: The Hats of Maison Michel, which explores the materials and craftsmanship of millinery and runs until December 13, 2026.
The workshop costs €15 per child and must be booked through le 19M. An adult must remain present throughout the session, with a maximum of two children per adult. The accompanying adult is not charged. The workshop takes place at 2 place Skanderbeg, Paris.
