The Fête de la Science is a nationwide event created in 1991 by the ministry responsible for higher education and research. Its goal is to bring the public closer to the world of research by offering activities accessible to all audiences, regardless of their level of knowledge. Each edition rests on a common theme: in 2026, the through-line is "Savory Science", which highlights the links between science, food, taste and cooking. The activities are free and target families as well as students and adults.
In Savigny-le-Temple, the Science Festival builds on the region’s cultural and educational facilities and on the partners of the Grand Paris Sud community. The event pursues a mission of spreading scientific culture by offering a variety of formats: demonstrations, experiments, exhibitions, lectures, and participatory workshops. The aim is to illuminate research methods, help people understand current scientific challenges, and foster dialogue between the public and the speakers. As in the rest of France, participation is free and open to all, subject to the limited number of seats for some activities.
