Octopus, La Défense latest and modern brasserie, reopens

After waiting for several and very long weeks, Octopus finally reopens at the Esplanade de la Défense. From June 15, the restaurant/Cocktail bar opens its indoor space and its terrace by the Bassin Takis. From Monday to Friday, Octopus opens from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for dinner. The bar remains open until midnight. The BBQ keeps on working on NODD terrace, open from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch.

Like an air bubble, the Oxygen project is expected to bring the Esplanade de la Défense’s former glory back by making it more attractive for locals and neighboring workers. And it’s off to a good start with the collaboration between Liquid Corp and Maison Rostang and their creation, Octopus. A welcoming and modern brasserie also displaying a surprising cocktail bar.

Covering more than 2000sqm, restaurants (Bioburger, Marco Marco), salad bar (Prairie), coffee shop (Coutume) and other co-working areas crop up all over the place in a décor made of wood and plants.

But the big novelty in the food area is the opening this past April 2019 of restaurant Octopus, the outcome of the collaboration between group Liquid Corp (Moonshiner, Dirty Dick and Bluebird bars) and Maison Rostang (2 Michelin stars).

This modern brasserie doubling up as a cocktail bar will welcome workers looking for quality for lunch so that they can enjoy a nice meal while taking their time or one the go, but it will also invite people to relax and enjoy good food for an after-work party with colleagues, a pre-dinner drink with friends or a dinner date until one in the morning.

On the lunch menu, we have the contemporary version of the grill with super well-sourced meats, as well as fishes and seafood. For dinner, go for the small plates or share some nice cuts with a big table.

Moving on to drinks, it’s Sterling Hudson’s work – he used to be Moonshiner bartender – and he’ll prepare some low cocktails for lunch and true signature cocktails for dinner, to enjoy leaning on the copper-tinted circular bar or on the double east-west facing terrace opening on sunny days.

In other words, a modern and tasty place likely to shake up La Défense.
