Line 11 of the Paris metro opened in 1935. Today, it runs from Châtelet, the heart of the capital, through the northeastern suburbs to the Mairie des Lilas terminus in the town of Les Lilas, Seine-Saint-Denis. Over a 6km route, it has 13 stops, with connections to lines 1, 2, 3, 3bis, 4, 5, 7, 7bis, 8, 9 and 14 of the Paris metro and lines A, B and D of the Paris RER network.

On its Parisian route, line 11 of the RATP network mainly crosses the 4th, 3rd, 10th, 11th, 19th and 20th arrondissements of the capital, remaining on the right bank and serving the east of the capital. Among the highlights of line 11 are Châtelet, where you'll find the Canopée des Halles, Paris City Hall at Hôtel de Ville station, near BHV and the Marais district, the Centre Pompidou and Beaubourg near Rambuteau, the Musée des Arts et Métiers at Arts et Métiers station, Buttes Chaumont park at Pyrénées, and Belleville park at the eponymous station. Line 11 also brings you close to Hôpital Saint-Louis from Goncourt station.

In addition, this Paris metro line boasts a number of themed stations whose unusual decor may surprise you. One example is the copper-clad Arts et Métiers station, which gives the impression of being aboard a submarine from a Jules Vernes book.
