The Fête Nationale is one of the highlights of summer in France. Celebrated around July 14th, it's synonymous with fireworks, popular balls and other traditional festivities paying tribute to the homeland. Every year, the whole of France is in a festive mood, to the delight of French people and visitors alike. The capital, of course, attracts attention with its traditional military parade along the world's most beautiful avenue, and its famous fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower. In the four corners of the Paris region, many communes also take part in the festivities, unveiling a festive program on July 13 and 14.

Situated 20 kilometers southeast of Paris, Draveil is a beautiful town steeped in history, with a fascinating environmental and architectural heritage. On either side of the commune, the banks of the Seine and the Forêt de Sénart offer beautiful places to stroll, while on the town side, you'll find some of Essonne's heritage treasures, including the Château des Bergeries, the Château de Villiers and the country house of painter Eugène Delacroix.
