Fête Nationale in Neuilly-sur-Marne (93): Fireworks cancelled, entertainment maintained

Neuilly-sur-Marne celebrates Fête Nationale 2023 with a citizens' day, but without the traditional fireworks display, cancelled due to recent events.

Every July 14th, it's the same story: Parisians and tourists alike flock to the Champs-Élysées to admire the military parade down the world's most beautiful avenue, before looking up at the stars in the evening to watch the fireworks. Most even finish off the marathon by taking to the dance floor at the firemen's balls and other popular dances.

The festivities take place on D-Day, July 14, in the town of Neuilly-sur-Marne! This year, the city of Seine-Saint-Denis is organizing a 'Top Citoyens' day starting at 2 p.m. to mark the start of the "Neuilly l'Eté" event on the banks of the Marne. To mark the occasion, activities are being organized for adults and children alike.

On the program:

  • 2pm to 6pm: road safety workshops (barrel car, alcohol-prevention stand)
  • 4pm to 5pm: live carving of the famous Marianne face
  • All Neuilly l'Été activities (inflatables, workshops, games, etc.) will also be accessible.

But unlike in previous years, the highlight of the show, the traditional fireworks display on Place Stalingrad, which usually delights children of all ages from the banks of the Marne, has been cancelled. The City declares: "Due to recent events, the traditional fireworks display on the occasion of the Fête Nationale is cancelled in Neuilly-sur-Marne."

Happy Fête Nationale 2023 to all!
