Fireworks on July 13 and 14, 2026 in Yvelines (78): the department’s schedule without fireworks.

Fireworks scheduled for July 13 and 14, 2026 in Yvelines (78) have been banned by a prefectural decree, the same as festive fires, amid a heatwave and risk of fire. We take stock of the department’s program without fireworks and of the events that are still going ahead.

The National Day is celebrated every year on July 14 in France, and the Yvelines department (78) never misses the celebration, from Rambouillet to Saint-Germain-en-Laye via Mantes-la-Jolie. This year, the scene changes: the prefecture has issued an order banning all pyrotechnic displays in the department, amid a heat wave and as the risk of fires rises in the forested areas.

Heads up: in Yvelines, a prefectural order bans fireworks and all festive fire displays (including Saint-Jean-type fires) from Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM to Wednesday, July 15 at 8:00 AM, as well as sporting events and large gatherings. The prefect may grant exceptional authorization for certain categories of fireworks. Consequently, many launches are canceled or postponed. Always confirm with the town hall that the event will go ahead (or that a replacement activity will take place) before you travel. This guide will be updated as new announcements come in.

The details of the measures are in our article Heatwave in the Yvelines: fireworks, sporting events and major gatherings banned. The Yvelines will also shift to red heatwave alert this Saturday, July 11, a context that justifies these strengthened restrictions.

Are the Bastille Day fireworks still on in Yvelines for July 14?

The answer is clear: no, there will be no more shooting allowed in the Yvelines during this period, except for an exceptional exemption from the prefect. Let’s not sugarcoat it: this summer of 2026 reshuffles the rules for the Yvelines’ festivities, and safety comes before tradition.

Good news all the same: even if the fireworks are off the bill, the festivities usually stay on. Many towns pivot to alternatives (firefighter dances, guinguettes, concerts, light-and-sound shows, or drones) to keep the vibe alive without lighting the fuse.
