July 14th is a very special day in France, as it marks the start of the Fête Nationale. This date, which commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a key stage in the French Revolution, is celebrated today with traditional festivities including popular balls, firemen's balls, concerts, torchlight processions, military parades and of course... fireworks.
