The holiday season is officially upon us! For several weeks now, Christmas lights have been dazzling across the city, while festive window displays are captivating both young and old. Christmas markets have sprouted up like mushrooms in Paris and throughout Île-de-France. The RATP has joined in the holiday cheer, offering a series of free activities and surprises at stations across the network, especially on metro lines 6 and 14. What’s in store? A festive season themed around space!
Join us starting December 12, 2025 at the Pyramides station on Line 14 of the metro to discover a magical window display. "Completely immersed in a sparkling space universe," this display will showcase a detailed model of the historic Thomson-Sprague train cars—the renowned first fully metallic Paris metro trains. The miniature scene is set "at the heart of a decor populated by astronauts and aliens, offering a journey between heritage and imagination," it’s announced.
Another festive event, another station. From December 19 to 21, 2025, head to Glacière station on Line 6 for a journey to the "Glacière Planet." What's on offer? An immersive virtual reality experience aboard a space shuttle. Plus, there’s a photobooth where you can challenge gravity! To enjoy this experience, visit Glacière station on Saturday from 12 PM to 6 PM, and on Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. And to top it all off, the station will be decorated with a space-themed setup featuring "backlit spheres" to create a truly cosmic atmosphere.
To wrap things up, RATP has announced the playback of ambient sounds from outer space on board trains and during your ticket validations on Lines 1 and 14 of the metro. If you travel along either of these lines, make sure to stay alert from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
