Île-de-France braces for fresh snowfall on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. All departments in the region have been issued an orange snow and ice alert by Météo-France. Public transportation, road traffic, and airline schedules are experiencing significant disruptions. Here's what we know so far.

Following the snowfall on Monday that brought the region to a standstill, Île-de-France is facing another snowstorm this Wednesday, January 7. The eight Île-de-France departments — Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, and Val-d'Oise — are on orange alert for snow and ice issued by Météo-France. Additionally, heavy trucks over 3.5 tons will be banned from circulation throughout Île-de-France starting at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Further restrictions might also be introduced in the western part of the region.
