Epiphany Celebrations: A Sweet Tradition in Marly-le-Roi All pastry lovers are invited to Marly-le-Roi in the Yvelines department to sample the famous galette des rois crafted by Pâtisserie Haelewyn. This renowned bakery has garnered multiple accolades, including second place at the 2026 Yvelines Best Galette competition and the prestigious title of Best Bakery in Yvelines for 2025.

Looking for an exceptional galette des rois in the Yvelines to celebrate Epiphany? Head over to Marly-le-Roi, where Boulangerie-Pâtisserie Haelewyn is ready to impress. Located on avenue de l'Abreuvoir since 2021, this bakery has just snagged the silver medal at the Yvelines Best Almond Galette Competition 2026, a testament to its artisanal craftsmanship. This latest accolade adds to an already impressive record for brothers Jérôme and Jimmy Haelewyn, solidifying their reputation for excellence.

This well-deserved recognition is no coincidence for this establishment in Yvelines. After winning the 2024 Best Galette Award in Yvelines, Jimmy Haelewyn has done it again, securing a second place at the 2026 departmental competition in the Employer category. The entire team shines with pride, as their apprentice Éléa took first place in the Apprentice category, while Benjamin finished sixth among Employees. This remarkable clean sweep highlights the exceptional quality of work from the entire team. Moreover, Jimmy will soon represent Yvelines at the Île-de-France Regional Competition, scheduled for mid-January 2026.

Born into a family of shopkeepers, the two brothers—father and son—received their training at the prestigious Grégoire Ferrandi School in Paris. Jérôme specialized in baking, while Jimmy honed his skills in pastry and chocolate craftsmanship. After gaining experience at renowned establishments in Versailles and establishing their reputation in the Hauts-de-Seine region, they chose to settle in Marly-le-Roi to launch their own venture. That decision has clearly paid off, as reflected in their impressive list of awards: 3rd Best Traditional Bakery in Île-de-France in 2023 and, most notably, the title of Best Pastry Shop in Yvelines 2025. This triumphant accolade was achieved just two months ago.

Their King’s Cake is truly worth a special trip. We particularly enjoy its flaky puff pastry, perfectly crispy and golden, complemented by a rich almond cream infused with a delightful hint of rum. Nothing overly sweet or overwhelming—just enough to highlight the flavors without overpowering them. This cake comes in various sizes to suit all gatherings: approximately €22 for 4 people, €33 for 6, €44 for 8, and €55 for 10. Reasonably priced for a prize-winning treat made from top-quality ingredients carefully selected by the two brothers. Yes, it's more expensive than supermarket versions, but the comparison simply doesn’t hold up.
