Meurtre à la bibliothèque et au musée : deux murder parties à la City of Architecture

Want to lead the investigation in a setting dedicated to architecture? The Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, at the Trocadéro in Paris, is hosting two murder parties this autumn 2026.

On Saturday October 3, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m., “Murder at the Library” unveils a fresh storyline set in the heart of the contemporary architecture library.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m., « Meurtre au musée - saison 2 » invites participants to solve another case in the museum.

Designed and hosted by Mortelle Soirée, the two quests are open to adults and to teenagers aged 13 and up.

"Murder at the Library," a new case opens on October 3

First up in this lineup: “Murder at the Library”, billed as a fresh scenario, will unfold on Saturday, October 3. This time, the crime scene is set in the heart of the Contemporary Architecture Library at the City. A body has been found there, and participants must uncover the killer’s identity.

The investigation rests on several elements to scrutinize and compare:

• a crime scene to investigate;
• a witness;
• three suspects to pin down;
• forensic reports;
• clues to uncover and interrogations to conduct as a team.

The library setting is an integral part of the plot here. The experiment temporarily repurposes this space, dedicated to architecture, into a field of investigation, with the aim of gathering enough clues to identify the culprit.

"Murder at the Museum" — Season 2 for Halloween

A change of scenery on Saturday, October 31, 2026 with “Murder at the Museum – Season 2.” Organized on the day of d’Halloween, this second murder party takes place this time inside the museum. Participants are invited to inspect the crime scene, question the suspects, and make their accusations. The costumed participants are welcome.

The story opens with the discovery of the body of Grégoire Manchette, touted as an international authority on Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The victim is found beneath a replica of Rouen’s Gros Horloge arch.

Several avenues open up around his role as Architect of the Buildings of France, his teaching, his work as an author, and even his private life.

An investigation among the City of Architecture's collections

These two events play with the spaces of the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine to offer a visit in a different shape: the audience is no longer just a spectator, but becomes investigators for the duration of the game. The library provides the setting for the first mystery, while the museum’s spaces host the second.

To take part in one of these investigations, head to the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, entrée Trocadéro. “Murder in the Library” is scheduled for October 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM and “Murder at the Museum – Season 2” for October 31, 2026 at 4:00 PM. In both cases, plan to arrive at 3:30 PM to form the teams.
