Heritage Days 2026: discover the Urban Transport Museum in Chelles (Seine-et-Marne)

Horse-drawn omnibuses, buses, trams, trolleybuses... Fans of public transport and vintage vehicles can explore all these machines at the Musée des Transports Urbains, in Chelles, in Seine-et-Marne. On the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine which take place on 19 and 20 September 2026, the museum will open its doors free of charge and welcoming to all visitors.

Founded in 1957 by the Association pour le Musée des Transports Urbains, Interurbains et Ruraux (AMTUIR), the museum boasts a fascinating collection of life-size vehicles, scale models, models, photographs, books and illustrations, audiovisual documents, transport-related objects... The museum's jewels include Paris metro cars, omnibuses, steam streetcars... Enough to take us back in time!
