Dance lovers, come to La Briqueterie on Saturday, September 20, 2025. To celebrate this 42nd edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, on the themes of" LivingHeritage " and"Sporting Heritage", the Centre de développement chorégraphique du Val-de-Marne is offering several activities and events for visitors of all ages. Come and discover and admire this building steeped in history, which today welcomes young dancers and artists from all over the region.
La Briqueterie is the premier venue for dance creation in the Paris region. Dance companies from all over the world are invited to take up residencies here, where they can develop their techniques in the beautiful setting of a former brickworks, with its large red-brick chimney andarchitecture typical of the second half of the 19th century. Yes, this creative space wasn't always dedicated to art! The brickyard was once a factory, commissioned in 1868 and disused a century later.
As part of the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, La Briqueterie is looking forward to welcoming you to its history and the world of dance.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, discover La briqueterie, its history, garden, workshops and spaces on two guided tours.
For this event, La briqueterie is delighted to open its doors, garden and dance studios to you, and invites you to take part in two guided tours, in collaboration with the Conseil d'architecture, d'urbanisme et de l'environnement du Val-de-Marne (CAUE94).
Discover the past of the former Gournay brickworks, rehabilitated and transformed by the Philippe Prost agency into a creative space for contemporary dance, which opened its doors in 2013.
Two guided tours are available from 2 to 4 pm and from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, led by Delphine Leboullenger, architect with CAUE 94, and a mediator from La Briqueterie.
These two moments of discovery will include a "workshop du regard" based on choreographic works weaving a privileged link between dance and architecture. As a reminder, "ateliers du regard" are times for exchange and sharing based on short video extracts. Open to all, they are a pretext for encounters.
