Now, behind its 19th-century façade, Parisians of all ages can discover surprising exhibitions and events. Come and take a behind-the-scenes look at the Gaîté Lyrique during the new Journées du Patrimoine(booking required)!
Come and discover the Gaîté Lyrique, its backstage and its history! Today, the Gaîté Lyrique is focused on creation and commitment, with its Fabrique project, and has come a long way since the days of operettas...
A cultural establishment of the City of Paris since 2011, the Gaîté Lyrique tells a long and eventful story, spanning three centuries, from Offenbach's operettas to the multi-disciplinary Fabrique project of the time (via other episodes, such as the Planète Magique theme park...), via the constant prism of popular practices. It's also a historic building whose eras continue to interact, and which architect Manuelle Gautrand completely redesigned in the 2000s at the instigation of the City of Paris, before reopening the site in its current form.
Visit the building
The Gaîté Lyrique team invites you to take a tour of the building. We'll show you the different programming areas (some of which are not accessible to the public), the building's history and the Fabrique de l'époque project. With the Fabrique de l'époque project, the Gaîté Lyrique today dedicates its activities to the cultural, social, democratic and climatic emergency. Hand in hand with artists, activists, thinkers and change agents, the Gaîté Lyrique - Fabrique de l'époque proposes new ways of creating and acting together.
