For the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, the Musée Eugène Delacroix invites you to plunge into the world of the famous painter. A true place of life, its bucolic setting will charm every visitor who passes through its doors. This weekend, September 20 and 21, 2025, take advantage of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) to discover this place, its history and its treasures.
Located in the former apartments and studios of Eugène Delacroix, this museum was born of the determination of several leading painters of the 1920s. Maurice Denis, Paul Signac, Édouard Vuillard and Ker-Xavier Roussel, to name but a few, wished to create a place of homage to this painter who aroused their admiration. And so,Eugène Delacroix 's former home became a museum in his honor.
At this " studio-museum " in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, immerse yourself in the artist's intimate work, through a collection of Delacroix 's paintings, frescoes, lithographs and drawings, as well as objects brought back by the painter from his trip to the Orient, and works by artists contemporary with Delacroix.
Learn about engraving in a workshop led by artist Réjane Gold. A plastic painter, she recycles milk cartons to make printing plates. Discover the technique of intaglio engraving on the theme of the garden, which consists of drawing by digging grooves with a drypoint on a plate. The ink is then deposited and passed to the press. Eugène Delacroix was also an engraver, and has left us some fine study plates.
Le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
Exciting, bucolic tours for the whole family!
