Created in 1804 in the buildings of the former Sainte-Geneviève Abbey, the Lycée Henri IV is probably the only school in France to have retained its medieval layout. In addition to architecture dating back to the 12th century, it has preserved numerous Baroque decorations, including the Abbot's oratory and the immense library of the Génovéfains, bearing witness to the importance, wealth and influence of the abbey. In recent years, the listed building has benefited from major restoration work on the canons' cellar and the dome fresco painted by Jean Restout. A guided tour lasting around 01:00 invites you to discover these prestigious sites and their history, while soaking up the atmosphere of a prestigious high school.

    The tour includes several staircases.
