Every year in September, the number of cultural events in Paris and the Ile-de-France region multiplies. Whether musical, sporting or artistic, there's no shortage of events.
September also marks the long-awaited return of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). For two days, museums, castles, institutions, churches, hidden spots and media groups open their doors to the general public, offering free or guided tours, as well as a host of other diverse and varied events, all free of charge.
This year, the European Heritage Days return to Paris and the Île-de-France region on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025.
