The 19M lifts the curtain on its backstage workings! On the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine 2026 à Paris, this flagship hub of the Métiers d’art de la mode et de la décoration, created at CHANEL's initiative, opens its doors for a rare public viewing. Located at Porte d’Aubervilliers, on the edge of Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis, the Rudy Ricciotti–designed building brings together 11 Maisons d’art and nearly 700 artisans and experts.
Embroiderers, feather workers, pleaters, milliners, bootmakers... here, fashion is made by hand and to the highest standards. The 19M is home to notably Lesage, Atelier Montex, Paloma, Lemarié, Ateliers Lognon, Maison Michel, Massaro, Goossens and Studio MTX. And since these workshops open to the public only twice a year, the Heritage Days offer a rare chance to see what goes on behind the scenes.
The venue is about more than its workshops. It also houses the Galerie du 19M, offering a free program that blends art, design, crafts, performances and encounters, as well as a café gourmand where you can extend the visit with a sweet or savory break. A place where craftsmanship comes to life on the plate without leaving the premises.
