Established in 1984 by Jack Lang, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) aim to highlight the richness, diversity and eccentricity of the cultural jewels that surround us. During this special weekend, numerous sites open their doors to the public, enabling us to share these beauties and our common history with as many people as possible.
The Journées du Patrimoine are also an opportunity to shine the spotlight on little-known places. In Paris and the Ile-de-France region, there are many hidden gems , sometimes right under our noses! That's why a number of cultural players are committed to helping us (re)discover our city's neighborhoods. Thought you knew everything about Montmartre? Prepare to be surprised...
On September 19 and 20, 2026, the Le Petit Ney literary café invites you to free strolls through the streets of Montmartre. This associative café, located on Avenue de la Porte de Montparnasse, embodies the festive, artistic spirit of this little corner of Paris: as the day goes on, local residents take turns looking after this cultural, welcoming place, for everyone's enjoyment.
For the Heritage Days, the café thus offers guided tours that unveil the hidden histories of the buildings around us... Booking is mandatory to participate in these guided strolls, so don’t delay!
