The Berthe Morisot House in Bougival opens its doors to curious visitors on 19 and 20 September 2026, for the new edition of Heritage Days.

She was one of the leading figures of the Impressionist movement and a major artist of her era. Berthe Morisot managed to carve out a place for herself in a male-dominated world, attaining parity with her friends and peers Manet, Degas, Renoir, or Monet. The painter spent part of her life in Bougival, in a country house that inspired several of her paintings.

This house today houses a museum dedicated to Berthe Morisot. The art venue opens its doors to the public on 19 and 20 September 2026, for the 43rd edition of Heritage Days. Guided tours and activities are planned to make the weekend memorable.

Each year, the Journées du Patrimoine injects fresh momentum into the autumn schedule of Île-de-France. Thousands of venues throw open their doors to curious visitors, inviting them to explore and appreciate the full richness of France's cultural heritage. Museums, monuments, performance venues, gardens, the backstage areas of train stations or artisans’ workshops: this event is an essential rendezvous for all enthusiasts.
