The Heritage Days are coming this year on the weekend of September 19–20, 2026. This season’s unmissable event invites you to embark on a journey through European heritage with a fantastic programme of visits and activities, often free, inside the monuments, museums, churches, and castles, as well as places that are usually closed to the public. It’s a great opportunity to rediscover our heritage in a different light through programming that’s sometimes unprecedented—sure to delight art and history lovers and the most curious explorers alike.

Across the Île-de-France region, many towns are stepping up to offer experiences that are as thrilling as ever. This is a chance to set out to discover a heritage that is sometimes still too little known!

Bagneux Municipal Cemetery

Take a fresh look at the municipal cemetery with the City Archives Service and the City of Bagneux’s Historical Heritage team.
The Bagneux municipal cemetery opened in 1867 to replace the old burial site at Dampierre Square, near the church. A cornerstone of the town’s cultural heritage, it houses architectural gems, a listed monument (the Commandant de Dampierre monument), rich epigraphic records, and stories and anecdotes about the notable figures buried in Bagneux. From reflections on the evolution of funeral practices to ecological management and even the installation of beehives, come discover this place and put your questions to us.

St. Hermeland Church
Jazz concert at Saint-Hermeland Church in Bagneux
Set in the remarkable Gothic Saint-Hermeland Church, at the very heart of what used to be the village of Bagneux, join us to hear a jazz trio featuring Vincent Jacqz on piano, David Prez on tenor sax, and Gary Brunton on double bass. They will perform reimagined jazz standards as well as original compositions, including pieces written especially for this occasion.

Guided tour of Saint-Hermeland Church in Bagneux
A jewel of Gothic architecture and art, Saint-Hermeland Church is affectionately known as the "little Notre-Dame." Built in the 12th century and listed as a historic monument in 1862, Saint-Hermeland underwent a major restoration campaign in 2019.
A licensed tour guide will take you through this storied site.

House of Music and Dance
Guided tour of the Richelieu House in Bagneux
Set among a leafy park, come and discover the Richelieu House, built by a secretary to Cardinal Richelieu around 1630, and, according to legend, the place where Louis XIII’s minister silenced troublesome witnesses.
The house, which later became a school and then a conservatory, has preserved extraordinarily rare 17th-century painted ceilings, exceptional for their quality. They were rediscovered in 2004, then restored and classified as a Historic Monument in 2006.
