The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are one of those not-to-be-missed events that punctuate the Parisian cultural calendar. Every year in September, this major event invites enthusiasts and the curious to take advantage of a surprising and enriching cultural program. Museums, monuments, castles, churches, gardens and even places usually closed to the public , such as ministries, all play their part in the Journées du Patrimoine. One after the other, we're offered tours - often free of charge - as well as original events for young and old alike.
Paris is, of course, rolling out a fabulous program for this exceptional weekend, and the rest of the region has plenty to offer as well. If you find yourself in the Hauts-de-Seine area or you’re looking to explore the department 92, why not visit the city of Sèvres ?
Accessible by public transport, this commune exudes an irresistible charm that you can experience during the 43rd edition of Heritage Days. We break down the tours and activities scheduled for this weekend of September 19–20, 2026.

France Education International
From the Royal Porcelain Factory to France Education International, via the École normale supérieure de jeunes filles
Since the mid-18th century, this site has housed three major institutions that left their mark on French history: the Royal Porcelain Factory of Sèvres (1756-1876), the École normale supérieure des jeunes filles (1881-1940), and since 1945 the International Center for Pedagogical Studies, today France Éducation internationale.
Although their missions differed, these institutions share two common legacies. The first is innovation: from the creation of the hard-paste porcelain that made Sèvres famous, to shaping the Republic’s future female elites, and to developing French expertise in education, in French as a foreign language, and in language testing. The second is a constant openness to the world: Sèvres porcelain served as ambassadors of French know-how, ENS students traveled and learned foreign languages, while France Éducation internationale now operates in more than 180 countries in the service of educational and linguistic cooperation and the French language.
Through its buildings, its gardens, and its history, this site thus tells nearly three centuries of French excellence, knowledge transmission, and intercultural dialogue.

Roundtable: The Earth as a Creative Resource
What if the grand construction projects became the resources of tomorrow’s heritage? And what if these major sites became the deposits of tomorrow’s heritage?

A cross-disciplinary discussion, led by Eva Grangier, Director of JAD and Deputy to Culture for the Hauts-de-Seine Department, to discover how art and design are reinventing the mutations of our territories.

Sèvres National Manufacture – Mobilier National
Exclusive preview of artist Claire Lindner's works as her residency at the Sèvres National Porcelain Factory comes to a close
During European Heritage Days, the artist Claire Lindner’s works will be shown inside the walls of the Manufacture. This preview presentation marks the culmination of her two-year residency at the site.
The body of work created at Sèvres forms a vibrant, surprising array of shapes and colors, where each piece echoes the others. Lindner pursues the idea of hybridization: her organic forms seem to shadow the historical models of Sèvres, while some traditional motifs proliferate across her own pieces. With the help of the artisans, the artist has joyfully revisited the crystallized enamels—Sèvres’s emblematic technique since the 19th century—seeking a level of matt finish rarely seen in her work.
Participation requirements: Limited capacity on the Manufacture premises. Expect to wait. - Free | No reservation required
Schedule: Saturday, September 19, 2026 — 10:00 to 17:30 | Sunday, September 20, 2026 — 10:00 to 17:30
