European Heritage Days mark their 43rd edition this year, and for music-hall fans it's the perfect moment! You’ll be able to step through the doors of the villa of an iconic figure: Joséphine Baker! See you on the weekend of September 19 and 20, 2026.

The Journées du Patrimoine return to France and stretch as far as the Yvelines, slated for September 19 and 20, 2026. Over two days, the country's premier cultural event opens the doors for free to castles, museums, gardens and more intimate venues to explore the architecture, the art and the surrounding nature. It’s the ideal occasion to discover the region’s rich historical heritage through the many guided tours, exhibitions and activities planned for this exceptional weekend!

Le Vésinet is the pastoral stop along the itinerary for the Heritage Days 2026, on Saturday, September 19 this year. The enchanting town in the Yvelines is home to the Villa Beau Chêne, more popularly known as the "Villa of Joséphine Baker," a vivid emblem of a legendary era full of glamour. Acquired in the 1920s by the star of the music hall, this iconic residence has pulsed to the wild rhythms of jazz, hosting the era’s greatest personalities at unforgettable parties. Today, the Villa preserves Joséphine’s audacious spirit, its walls steeped in memories and its lush garden thriving. A cultural and artistic legacy that continues to inspire and enchant, celebrating the incomparable Joséphine Baker.
