Discover the Daubigny House-Workshop, Auvers-sur-Oise’s historic first artistic hub, open for Heritage Days at a special rate.
This site has long served as a meeting place for artists, where Charles-François Daubigny hosted his students and friends—anticipating today’s vibrant networks of creators.
A classified historic monument, the Daubigny House-Workshop also earned the label “Maison des Illustres” in November 2014.
Step into a place still fresh with creative energy, where the mood was once buoyant as Daubigny welcomed friends and pupils, including Corot, Daumier, Oudinot, Geoffroy-Dechaume, Léonide Bourges, and more.
They spent many rainy days decorating the house and its studio, resulting in more than 200 m² of paintings that cover the walls of this modest residence, sure to captivate art lovers.
This House-Workshop was Auvers-sur-Oise’s first artistic center.
According to visitors, it remains the town’s most authentic artistic site.
