What if, for the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, we set out to conquer the great Parisian high schools? On Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, the unmissable back-to-school cultural event will be opening the doors of some of the most unusual places in Paris, available for visits over the weekend only. This is your chance to discover and rediscover some of the capital's most beautiful historic monuments , little-knownchurches hidden within, places of power, parks and gardens, as well as prestigious educational establishments.
In the 16th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Rue de la Pompe metro station, the Lycée Janson-de-Sailly is one of the largest school complexes in the whole of France. With almost 4,000 students, not counting several hundred teachers, the building is immense, covering a total area of over 36,500 m². Transformed into a hospital during the First World War, cradle of student resistance during the Second, the Lycée Janson-de-Sailly has a rich history. The good news is that you have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive guided tour during the Journées du Patrimoine 2025: mark your calendars!
-Historical tour of the Lycée - (approx. 1h30)
