It's back, that event we look forward to every year: the 42nd edition of the Journées du Patrimoine takes place on the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025. But why do we love this cultural event so much? Here's a quick rundown for those who've missed out.
During the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), over 1,500 sites open their doors to us for a weekend, free of charge or at a reduced price. Monuments, museums, churches, factories and shops, institutions, gardens, places of power, historical or architectural curiosities... All these extraordinary places welcome the curious, and let us discover their particularities. This is often an opportunity to discover places closed to the public, and to get to know our region better.
Paris is a city of art and culture, the capital of France with a thousand years of history: of course, there are a thousand things to do during the Journées du Patrimoine. But if you'd like to discover new horizons without crossing the whole of theÎle-de-France region, we have a few suggestions.
