Heritage Days at Saint-Mammès church
Guided tour of Saint-Mammès church
The village church, dedicated to Mammès, a saintly healer from Cappadocia, was probably built around the year 1000, in the pre-Romanesque style.
It houses a 13th-century statue of the saint, a beautiful 14th-century statue of the Virgin and Child, and several 13th-century tombstones.
Heritage Days at Saint-Mammès lock
The Saint-Mammès lock is an exception on the Canal du Loing. While the majority of locks are perré, the Saint-Mammès lock is bajoyers.
Discreet and intact, the lock keeper's house is, with a few modifications, exactly as it was designed in the 18th century. Its distinctive feature is a slate roof, in a region where tiles are the predominant roofing material.
Heritage Days at the Place de la Bosse in Saint-Mammès
At the confluence of the Seine and Loing rivers, Saint-Mammès will take you back in time to the history of inland waterway transport, which still gives rhythm to the life of this picturesque village.
Heritage Days at the council chamber, annex to Saint-Mammès town hall
This exhibition is presented by the associations Festi'Val en Seine and AFSL.
