On the third weekend in September, Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region take part in the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). Every year, this exceptional annual event is eagerly awaited by history buffs, art lovers and curious onlookers looking for cultural highlights and new discoveries.
Over the course of a weekend, museums, monuments, castles and private venues such as ministries and embassies open their doors to you, offering a program of events specially designed for the occasion, often free of charge or at no extra cost. Free or guided tours, original events and workshops for the whole family- that's what's in store. Don't miss the next event on the weekend of September 16 and 17, 2023.
It's time to explore our heritage from every angle. And it's just the thing, because during the Journées du Patrimoine, even Parisian hospitals are getting in on the act, revealing their sometimes unsuspected treasures. For this 40th edition, you can conquer theHôpital Necker - Enfants Malades, located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. Founded in 1778, it is partly housed in the former convent of the Benedictine nuns Notre-Dame-de-Liesse.
