Instead of rushing straight into the capital, keep in mind that the Heritage Days 2023 also hold delightful surprises in other corners of Île-de-France! For example, the Francilianes Donkey Farm, established in 2009 and taken over in 2014 by a passionate couple, stands out as the first certified organic farm in Val-de-Marne (since 2010). Spread across 20 hectares of leased land from the Val-de-Marne Departmental Council and the Île-de-France Region, the farm is dedicated solely to the well-being of its donkeys, jennies, and foals, with a focus on grazing and hay production. Over time, the farm has expanded to offer a variety of activities, from companionship to eco-grazing and donkey therapy. This educational farm open to the public also established its own cheese dairy in 2018. Part of its production is sold directly, while the rest is supplied to a soap artisan for cosmetic products. A visit to Francilianes Donkey Farm will enchant you with the gentle eyes of these animals, the charm of Île-de-France, and the surrounding nature.
