And, surprise! Some little-known sites will be unveiled during the Journées du Patrimoine 2023. Such is the case of La Ruche Seydoux. A veritable artistic oasis nestled in the heart of Paris's 15th arrondissement, it was built in 1902 by sculptor Alfred Boucher, using materials from the 1900 Universal Exhibition. From the outset, La Ruche has attracted artists from all over the world! Talents such as Chagall, Modigliani and Soutine found inspiration within its walls. In 1973, when the estate was threatened with destruction, the Fondation La Ruche-Seydoux was born, under the impetus of Bernard Anthonioz, Geneviève and René Seydoux. Today, nearly fiftyartists continue to breathe life into this emblematic space, perpetuating Alfred Boucher's vision and remaining a place open to all art forms.
