For this latest edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, the magic is more than ever at work in the capital... The Ateliers Berthier, a veritable jewel in the crown of Parisian cultural heritage, joins the party on Saturday, September 16, 2023! Listed as a Monument Historique since 1990, they were built by Charles Garnier and Gustave Eiffel to house the Paris Opera's scenery workshops. Today, the Ateliers Berthier play a dual role: preserving the know-how of set manufacturing and renovation, and housing a priceless treasure trove. This historic showcase contains no fewer than 60,000 pieces of sumptuous costumes and accessories! Each piece bears witness to an era, a style, that embellished the legendary performances of artists on the stages of the Palais Garnier andOpéra Bastille.
