In Paris, the Gainsbourg House offers a window into the life and work of Serge Gainsbourg for Heritage Days on September 19 and 20, 2026. Part historic home, part collection of personal objects and museum space, the visit brings you up close to the artist’s universe.

The 2026 Heritage Days program in Paris at the Gainsbourg House

To celebrate its third anniversary, the House of Gainsbourg is pleased to team up once again with European Heritage Days with a tailor-made program.

After more than 32 years of waiting, the House of Gainsbourg has established itself as a must-visit cultural venue in Paris since its opening in September 2023, dedicated to sharing the work of Serge Gainsbourg. Initiated and run by his daughter Charlotte, this project offers an immersive dive into the artist’s creative and personal universe.

For its third participation, the House of Gainsbourg offers a free tour of the "Museum Alone" route at 14 rue de Verneuil on Saturday evening, September 19, starting at 7 p.m.

Explore the artist’s life and career through a chronological route featuring 400 original objects and a selection of rare, previously unseen archives. At the end of the journey, discover the temporary exhibition devoted to the title "Je t’aime… moi non plus." The experience continues at Gainsbarre, the intimate restaurant and cocktail bar, then concludes in the bookstore-souvenir shop offering various collections that evoke the artist’s rich universe.

For this edition themed around "Heritage of Photography," the museum tour will be punctuated by conversations with mediators, who will host image breaks focusing on specific items from the permanent collection.

The "Museum Alone" route and Gainsbarre are open to everyone (no reservation required and subject to availability on the night of the event).

The "House & Museum" route is sold out for the European Heritage Days (lot drawn on September 15). Tours are only available to the public with tickets.

A fresh perspective on visiting Gainsbourg's House
To celebrate its third anniversary, Maison Gainsbourg is once again teaming up with the European Heritage Days for a tailor-made program.

Having waited more than 32 years, Maison Gainsbourg has established itself as a must-visit cultural venue in Paris since its opening in September 2023, dedicated to sharing the work of Serge Gainsbourg. Driven and led by his daughter Charlotte, the project invites visitors into the artist’s creative and intimate universe.

For its third participation, Maison Gainsbourg offers a free evening tour of its spaces on Rue de Verneuil on Saturday, September 19, starting at 7 p.m.

- At 5 bis: the historic house where Serge Gainsbourg lived for 22 years, a legendary interior preserved in its entirety since his death in 1991. Visitors are guided by an original soundtrack created by Soundwalk Collective in collaboration with Charlotte Gainsbourg.

- Opposite, at number 14: a museum tracing the artist’s life and career through a chronological route formed by 400 original objects and a selection of rare and unseen archives. At the end of the path, discover the temporary exhibition dedicated to the title "Je t’aime… moi non plus." The experience continues at Gainsbarre, a cloaked restaurant and cocktail bar, and ends in the bookstore-gallery offering different collections to evoke the artist’s rich universe.

For this edition, centered on the theme "Heritage of Photography," the museum visit will be punctuated by discussions with mediators, who will propose image-focused stops around specific objects from the permanent collection.

The “Maison & Musée” itinerary is fully booked for the European Heritage Days (draw held on September 15). Entry is only for ticket holders, with the exception of the "Museum only" route and Gainsbarre, which are open to all (no reservations, subject to availability on the evening of the event).
