Hangar Y welcomes visitors from the 92 region and beyond, on September 20 and 21, 2025, for the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). A special program takes place throughout the cultural weekend.

Opened in 2023 after a lengthy renovation, Hangar Y has quickly become a popular cultural and lifestyle venue for the people of Paris. Exhibitions, immersive experiences, film screenings, family workshops: Hangar Y offers a rich and diverse program for all audiences.

This former airship hangar attracts the curious only with its unusual architecture and history. Built from elements of the machine gallery from the 1878 Universal Exhibition, reused during the First World War, transformed into the Air and Space Museum between the wars... This impressive building is sure to fascinate many a visitor!

To find out all there is to know about this extraordinary place, and to take advantage of original family events, come and visit Hangar Y on September 20 and 21, 2025: the site is opening its doors free of charge to all on the occasion of the new edition of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). This annual cultural event gives us the opportunity to enjoy important and unusual sites, while discovering the riches of France.

    ### My Fantastic Drawing: the most original drawings created by children are displayed in the Mon Jardin Fantastique exhibition-workshop.

    Conceived as a giant, collaborative, creative and educational workshop, Mon Jardin Fantastique has been inviting children and parents since April 12, 2024 to explore together a world inspired by the site's landscape heritage - an imaginary garden that itself becomes a living workshop.

    On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the most original drawings produced for the exhibition will be on display, providing a visual look back over several months of creation.

    La Traversée is a self-guided audio tour of Hangar Y's park, using bone conduction* technology and light headphones worn in front of the ears.

    Using your smartphone, the audioguide takes you on a guided tour of 5 sculptures and artistic installations, combining voice-over, sound creation and music. More than an audio tour, La Traversée is a sensory experience. Thanks to bone conduction, you stay connected to the surrounding nature and the people around you. You don't just hear the sounds and voices in your ears, you feel them physically too...Ready for a new discovery of contemporary sculpture?

    * Bone conduction offers a listening experience accessible to the hearing and visually impaired.

    Hangar Y, the world's first airship hangar, was built in 1878 for the Universal Exhibition.

    After decades of neglect, it has now been reborn as a major cultural venue in Greater Paris.

    Urban Act, in collaboration with landscape architect Christian Fournet, orchestrated the rehabilitation of the site, highlighting the historic perspective designed by Le Nôtre and redeveloping the Bassin de Chalais park. The project has restored a cultural, ecological and landscape heritage, integrating soft paths, relaxation areas and artistic installations. This guided tour invites you to go behind the scenes of this transformation, to understand the architectural and landscaping choices made, and to appreciate how past and present intertwine to offer a unique place, open to all.

    (Re)discover a jewel of industrial heritage, built for the 1878 Universal Exhibition by Henri de Dion, Gustave Eiffel's teacher!

    The site of the first airships, then the Air and Space Museum for almost half a century, Hangar Y has been a witness to history. In particular, it hosted the first closed-circuit airship flight in 1884. Today, it is the oldest airship hangar in the world.

    Facing the Bassin de Chalais, Harry Allouche's improvised notes punctuate the afternoon with suspended musical moments.

    Harry Allouche is a French composer, pianist and music producer. His work blends the classical tradition with a contemporary cinematic imagination. A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he also taught as Associate Professor of Harmony in the Music, Sound & Image department.

    His universe blends classical tradition and contemporary cinematic imagination. Pianist accompanist for silent films at the Cinémathèque Française and the Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation, he also collaborates with institutions such as the Théâtre du Châtelet and artists such as April March and JB Dunckel (AIR).

    He composes for the cinema, notably for Au bout des doigts (2018) and Los Colonos (2023), presented at Cannes and awarded the Prix FIPRESCI. In 2024, he scored César Acevedo's film Horizonte, unveiled at the Toronto Film Festival.

  • Heritage in Poetry" competition: writing workshop for young people
