To celebrate the Journées du Patrimoine, on the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) is opening the doors of its museum.

In this basketball den, you can admire collectors' items , trophies and cups, emblematic outfits of the French national team, photos of the greatest players, balls of all shapes and sizes... In short, dozens and dozens of pieces and relics that tell the great story of basketball in France.

Come and discover this unique space, which puts the spotlight on French basketball, and enjoyspecial tours andevents during the Journées du Patrimoine. To keep your passion alive, you can even enjoy a game with friends afterwards, on one of the many courts dotted around Paris...

On the program for these Journées du Patrimoine 2025 at the FFBB museum space:

  • Free tour of the French Basketball Federation's museum area
    Saturday, September 20, 2025 - 10:00 ⤏ 18:00

    Medals, photographs, jerseys, trophies, stories, anecdotes, explanations... A place to immerse yourself freely in the history of basketball, thanks to objects from the Musée du Basket and members of the FFBB's Heritage and Legends Commission.

    Throughout the day, visitors will also be able to chat with the Club des Internationaux, who have all worn the jersey of the French basketball team. At 3.30pm, visitors will be treated to a special presentation of the banner of the Union Chrétienne des Jeunes Gens de Paris, dating from 1894, one of the oldest basketball-related objects in the world and the jewel in the crown of the Musée du Basket's collections. This banner, rarely exhibited due to its fragility and sensitivity to light, is a rare piece of the world's sporting heritage.

    Medals, photographs, jerseys, trophies, but also stories, anecdotes, explanations... Members of the FFBB's Heritage and Legends Commission invite you to dive into the history of basketball thanks to guided tours (10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm).

    Throughout the day, visitors will also be able to chat with the Club des Internationaux, who have all worn the jersey of the French basketball team. It originally came from the UCJG gymnasium on rue de Trévise in Paris, where basketball was first played in Europe. A model of the UCJ building, on display in the Espace muséal, will evoke the architectural features and history of this remarkable building.

    At 4pm, the Rue de Trévise Prize will be awarded for a student's dissertation on a basketball-related subject.
