Art lovers, and Giacometti enthusiasts in particular, are invited to theInstitut Giacometti - Hôtel particulier Paul Follot, for the 41st edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025. A good excuse to get out and discover the world of an artist who still fascinates us today.
The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a wide range of fascinating cultural events in the four corners of the Île-de-France region! If you're an art lover, the Institut Giacometti could well be the stop-off you're looking for.
It is a veritable reference point for the work of the sculptor, dedicated to exhibitions of his work, as well as to artistic research and teaching. The establishment is located in the 14th arrondissement, in the Montparnasse district, where Giacometti lived and worked throughout his prolific career! You can even take a look at the artist's studio, reconstructed within the institute.
Let's take a look at it for the Heritage Days, folks!
Discover the Institut Giacometti, its architecture and the exhibition "Beauvoir, Sartre and Giacometti. Vertigo of the Absolute".
The Institut Giacometti is housed in a listed mansion in Montparnasse, the district where Giacometti lived and worked throughout his career. This exceptional site reflects the image of the Institut, a unique cultural establishment in Paris, both a tool dedicated to research and a museum on a human scale, allowing close proximity to the works of art. More than just an exhibition space, the Institut is a center for study and discovery.
The Institut Giacometti is housed in the former studio of artist-decorator Paul Follot, a listed Art Nouveau and Art Deco mansion. Join a mediator on a tour of this unique building and its decor, protected by the Monuments Historiques and preserved in its original layout.
The Institut Giacometti presents a new exhibition dedicated to the intellectual and artistic friendship between Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre and Alberto Giacometti.
Take a guided tour and discover the exhibition entitled "Beauvoir, Sartre, Giacometti. Vertigo of the Absolute", exploring the powerful links between these three major figures of the 20th century. Through a philosophical, literary and artistic approach, the exhibition explores the quest for an absolute in art, thought and life.
Throughout the year, the Institut Giacometti offers family workshops, creative courses for amateurs, an art history cycle and lectures.
The workshops and creative courses are led by artists, creators and mediators. Their main aim is to support individual development through the creative gesture, and in the process to discover what inspired Giacometti in the exercise of his work.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, discover with your family the artistic approaches developed throughout the year, and talk to the team about the entire program.
