When Heritage Days arrive, enthusiasts and the curious alike seize the chance to explore the treasures of Paris and the Île-de-France region. Each September, many free tours, activities, and exceptional openings await at a diverse array of venues, inviting us to discover their behind-the-scenes secrets and stories for a weekend. In short, it’s a highlight of the Parisian calendar you won’t want to miss! By the way, the next edition runs from 19 to 20 September 2026 for a 43rd edition that promises to be fascinating.
The châteaux d'Île-de-France are, of course, part of this year’s edition of the Heritage Days. We’re taking advantage of the occasion to explore these impressive residences that also populate the greater Paris region.
The Yvelines department does not lack beautiful estates to discover, the best known of which is the Château de Versailles. In the city of Plaisir there is also a charming estate. The Château de Plaisir and its park rank among these heritage treasures well worth a visit. Dating from the 17th century, it is today a hub of cultural life, as the estate houses both the media library, the conservatory, the Robert Manuel Theatre in addition to exhibition and reception spaces.
Escape Room: The Doctor's Poison
Simon Le Tellier, owner of the Château de Plaisir, waits at King Louis XIII’s bedside. Struck by Crohn’s disease, the king must take a purgative remedy prepared by his personal doctor. But the Duchess of Chevreuse, famed schemer of the Chalais Conspiracy, has tampered with the contents of the vial, replacing it with poison in a bid to eliminate the sovereign!
Will you manage to recover the vial before the physician reaches his fatal appointment?
