This art center dedicated to image and sound is housed in a building that is over 100 years old! In 1924, in the commune of Gentilly, Val-de-Marne, a bathhouse opened its doors. Closed in the 1950s, and renovated in the early 2000s, this building embodies both the town's past and its modernity.
Le Lavoir Numérique is a place designed for audiovisual creation and learning. There are exhibitions, screenings, meetings, workshops, shows... The art center also takes part in the region's major cultural events, such as the Nuit Blanche... Or the Journées du Patrimoine!
Indeed, this Saturday, September 19, 2026, Lavoir Numérique will take part in the grand celebration of history and culture that is Heritage Days. For more than 40 years, this annual event has highlighted the heritage of every commune in France. For the curious, it’s an opportunity to visit many fascinating places that are usually closed to the public, such as museums, monuments, town halls and seats of power, gardens, backstage areas of theaters, stations or airports...
Heritage and culture can take many forms, through these special tours and events. Find out what they're like at Gentilly's Lavoir Numérique.
