It's the must-attend event of the season, the date that puts culture and heritage in the spotlight in all its forms. We’re talking, of course, about the Journées du Patrimoine, which celebrate their 43rd edition on 19 and 20 September 2026. During this very special weekend, curious visitors can explore a multitude of unusual venues, such as ministries, the backstage areas of train stations, performance venues, airports and department stores...
Yes, Heritage Days are the perfect chance to explore buildings and spaces that are usually closed to the public. And you don’t have to travel far to seize the opportunity: in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, a handful of curiosities await this weekend.
The The firefighters of the Port-Royal Fire Station open their doors to us on September 19 and 20. The bravest invite us to discover this historic site and meet the firefighters who keep watch over the neighborhood. A very special event that should appeal to both children and adults! Here is the detailed schedule for these open-door days.
Open House at Port-Royal Fire Station
Exceptional opening of the Port-Royal Fire Station, a historic barracks tucked along the Left Bank.
This event offers a rare chance to step inside an emblematic site that, since 1886, has watched over citizens and the heritage of several Parisian historic districts. As the third fire station built specifically to meet the operational demands of firefighters, the site is notable for its technological and functional innovations for its era. Alongside the history recounted on self-guided panels, several workshops will let families discover the profession of the military firefighter. The visit is also an invitation to meet: come and speak with the men and women who continue daily to uphold a legacy begun nearly 140 years ago.
Participation conditions: Free of charge | No booking required
