Visit to the Château de Breteuil
Visit to the Château de Breteuil
Step into four centuries of history. From opulent reception rooms to the kitchens, bedrooms, and library, about fifteen rooms invite you to explore. Richly furnished and decorated, the interiors offer a charming window onto the past and pay tribute to the successive owners who safeguarded an extraordinary family legacy. As you wander, you’ll encounter Marie-Antoinette beside the Baron de Breteuil, Léon Gambetta, and the Prince of Wales relaxing in the smoking room, and Marcel Proust polishing his notes on a bed in the Laque bedroom. In some rooms, wax figures from the Grévin Museum revive episodes of French history and the family’s daily life. In others, a suggested presence of a resident ghost makes it feel as if someone has just stepped out minutes earlier...
