Are you a ferrovipathe, a train and railway enthusiast? If so, we've got the perfect museum for you! Head for Seine-Saint-Denis, and more specifically Rosny-sous-Bois, to discover the Rosny Rail museum on the occasion of Heritage Days 2023.
This little-known nugget is dedicated to the history of the railroads, from the late 19th century to the present day. The immersive museum features numerous installations, scale models, period objects, posters and signs, and even high-speed train components.
The museum is located beneath the Rosny-sous-Bois RER station, in formerly disused parts. Featuring dozens of antique exhibits, the museum's collection traces the history of the railroads, and showcases model trains, reproductions of cockpits or country stations, and antique objects.
There's no better way to visit the museum than during the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) ! This European cultural event gives us the opportunity to visit major museums, institutions and historic sites, as well as unsuspected treasures in our region. The Rosny Rail Museum isopening its doors to the public free of charge for this event, so let's make the most of it!
We look forward to seeing you at the museum on September 16 and 17, 2023, for a discovery tour that should appeal to young and old alike. The Rosny Rail Museum is open to the public all weekend. Here are the program details:
