On March 8, International Women's Rights Day, a landmark event will be held on the forecourt of Paris City Hall. Les Guerrières de la Paix, a collective campaigning for peace and anti-racism, is inviting participants to a rally of solidarity to highlight the impact of conflict on women, and the importance of their role in peace processes.

This Friday, March 8, 2024, on the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the rendezvous is set for the square in front of Paris City Hall . Les Guerrières de la Paix, a collective committed to the fight for peace and against racism, is organizing a rally to highlight the repercussions of conflict on women and the crucial importance of their role in peace efforts.

The movement, which brings together women of diverse religious convictions and cultural backgrounds, aims to convey a message of resistance and unity in the face of challenges. Inspired by similar actions at international level, these women wish to reinforce the female solidarity that has already proved its worth in conflict situations around the globe.

The call to come together comes at a time when recent crises have revealed the specific vulnerability of women in war zones. Les Guerrières de la Paix intends to denounce the violence suffered by women and highlight their indispensable role in peace-building and conflict resolution, in line with the objectives of UN Resolution 1325.

The gathering on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville is intended as a moment of unity for all those who share the values of peace, justice and women's rights. The Guerrières de la Paix are calling for massive participation to make this event a powerful symbol of solidarity and shared commitment.

Program at 6.30pm in front of the Hôtel de Ville square:

  • Speeches by Sally Azar, the first female Palestinian pastor, and Nava Hefetz, a female Israeli rabbi.
