Professor Didier Raoult is sued by Bouches-du-Rhône’s Medical Association. On Cnews, the professor condemns a "very, very high level conspiracy" against him he has known of for months, as he is sued for breaking many rules of the professional code of ethics, according to Le Parisien: infringing collegiality, erroneous public information, undue danger exposure and even quackery.

Unveiled on Thursday November 12 by daily Le Parisien, microbiologist and head of Marseille Infectiopole (IHU) and figure contested by some, approved by others of the health crisis professor Didier Raoult is sued by the Medical Association.

He is subject to charges for many infringements to the professional code of ethics such as infringing collegiality, erroneous public information, undue danger exposure and even quackery.

Still according to our peers from Le Parisien, many reports as well as a complaint sent to the Bouches-du-Rhône’s Medical Association have led to these proceedings. Among the reports, Le Parisien notes for instance a group of 5 hospital doctors thinking professor Raoult’s “overcovered” sayings “are against the scientific data and results” and the latter went all the way up to “advocate and prescribe untried therapeutics and combined therapies at the lest ineffective, and even dangerous”.

As for the complaint sent to the Medical Association in Bouches-du-Rhône, it comes from an association of 700 doctors from the Société de pathologie infectieuse de langue française (SPILF – French-speaking infectious pathology company). The latter reproach the microbiologist for infringing at least 9 articles from the code of ethics. “Didier Raoult’s obstinacy (for hydroxychloroquine – Editor’s Note) has serious consequences, he doesn’t behave as a doctor should” president of the association Pierre Tattevin tells Le Parisien.

After a first meeting on October 6 with Didier Raoult, the Bouches-du-Rhône’s Medical Association ultimately decided to press charges. The microbiologist will be convoked in the next couple of months to the Association’s regional disciplinary chamber that can decide of the sanctions than can be up to crossing him off of the association.

This Wednesday November 18, Didier Raoult ultimately broke his silence on CNews and tells: "It goes to very high level. I've been warned early. I've been told 'You know, Didier, there's going to be a complaint from the Medical Association'. There will be a complaint from the Marseille prosecutor as well". According to the town councillor, "this is a medico-political conspiracy", as he guarantees he cured 13,000 people with a chloroquine-based treatment.
