When looking at the data, it seems obvious the impact of the coronavirus epidemic is colossal. In a press release issued on Monday January 18, 2021 in the evening, ADP reckons 33.1 million people took a plane from one of the group’s airports. Compared with 2019, the traveler traffic decreased by 69.4%. All in all, 22.3 million travelers routed through the Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (-70.8%) and 10.8 million through the Paris-Orly airport (-66.1%) set in southern Paris.
Therefore, the decrease in traffic has been bigger in the second semester 2020 (-76.1%), than the first one (-62.2%). According to data shared by the company, flights from Northern America (-80%), the Middle-Orient (-71%), and even Africa (-66%), Latin America (-70%), and Asia-Pacific (-79.9%) originated these very bad results.
Furthermore, everywhere across Europe, traffic data have been dramatically decreasing. In Europe (excluding the French traffic), -72.1% of traveler traffic in 2020. Around the world, “only” 1.8 billion people traveled in 2020. Internationally-speaking, the number of passengers drops by 60%. To take traffic back to normal levels, ADP CEO wishes to generalize tests before boarding, in order to win travelers’ trust again. While waiting for vaccine and return to normal…
